OLED stands for "Organic Light Emitting Diodes". They are LEDs made up of organic compounds. These OLEDs can be made smaller and thinner than normal LEDs. In normal LED TVs, each individual light emitting diode illuminates a small cluster of pixels, however, the smaller OLEDs can illuminate a single pixel, allowing for better picture quality and brightness.
